The Vision
To transform Perch into a modern desert sanctuary where architecture, atmosphere, and landscape work together to create a deeply transportive guest experience. Inspired by stillness, contrast, and the emotional power of the desert, the vision centered on creating a stay that feels cinematic, restorative, and entirely distinct from its surroundings.
The Transformation
What began as a single-room geodesic dome evolved into a fully realized five-bedroom destination retreat — expanding the experience through immersive outdoor living, elevated gathering spaces, a meditation loft, resort-style amenities, and a secondary mini-dome for stargazing and escape. Reimagining the dome in black became part of the property’s identity — allowing it to visually recede into the desert landscape while distinguishing Perch from the more expected dome experience. The transformation repositioned the property from novelty stay to immersive experiential destination.
The Experience
Perch was designed to create immediate immersion — balancing panoramic desert views, quiet stillness, layered gathering spaces, and indoor-outdoor living to foster connection, escape, and a deeper emotional experience of the landscape. Guests arrive feeling removed from everyday life. The stay feels cinematic, calming, and deeply memorable.
